MUSEUM OF ART AFTER ART

LIZ-N-VAL, MONK ROOM

April 20 - May 19, 2002

Reception: Saturday, April 20, 7-10 PM

Monk Gallery is pleased to present Liz-N-Val's latest work. The Monk Room is a site-specific installation where a deconstructed room within a room articulates notions of micro-macro structuring. The architecture of their fantasy universe is made-up of a bubbly matrix - a portal and windows that lead us conceptually from the microscopic out into galactic space.

What particularly interests Liz-N-Val is the intersection of idea and matter; the fusion of organic growth and universal systems. They imagine the room ensconced within the larger social organism, set within a changing world, inviting the viewer to a spiritual odyssey through space and time.
